Darius Norowzian is a British film director of Iranian and Polish heritage, known for crafting visually engaging work rooted in realism. With a foundation in documentary filmmaking, his stories carry a natural authenticity that resonates on screen. His latest short film was selected for the Cannes Film Festival and the BAFTA-accredited BUFF Film Festival, and also earned him a prestigious Shark Award.
Darius cut his teeth at Ridley Scott Associates, where he made his mark and co-founded a directing collective. Since then, Darius’ calm, intuitive approach behind the camera became his superpower - being able to draw out honest, emotionally rich performances—whether working with trained or non-actors. His signature style blends grounded storytelling with cinematic flair.
Over the years, he’s directed work for a diverse range of global brands, including Apple, McLaren, Amazon, Red Bull, Hilton, Qatar Airways, and Greenpeace.
Recently, Darius has been exploring the crossover of drama and documentary, infusing scripted narratives with the raw authenticity and emotional depth drawn from his documentary roots. His most recent work includes directing the short film "Street League - Own Your Future,” a finalist in the Smiley Awards 2025.
