Darius Norowzian is a British film director of Iranian & Polish origin, renowned for seamlessly blending documentary and drama to explore universal themes and relatable issues. His adeptness at working with both non-actors and established actors enhances the authenticity and engagement of his work.
In the commercial sphere, Darius honed his directing skills at Ridley Scott Associates (RSA Films), a renowned production company founded by directors Ridley and Tony Scott. During his tenure at RSA, he worked on commercials and documentaries for major brands such as Volvo, General Electric and Vodafone. Since then, Norowzian has directed notable projects such as the BBC's FA Cup campaign "No Guts No Glory," Hilton Hotels' "The Hilton Effect" campaign—which won at the Puerto Rico International Film Festival in 2019—and Red Bull's "Ride To The Roots." His diverse portfolio also includes collaborations with Amazon, Apple, McLaren, Heathrow Airport, Samsung and Greenpeace.
Norowzian's critically acclaimed documentary "Born A Believer," available on Amazon Prime, follows South London's Carney's Community charity as it rehabilitates ex-offenders and disaffected youths through boxing and mentorship.
In 2019, Norowzian founded StoryFactory Films, a boutique content company, through which he directed, co-produced, and edited the short film "No Dog," based on the published autobiography "The Lost Boyz." The film received several accolades, including a nomination for Best Short Film at the British Urban Film Festival 2021, an official selection at the Cannes Short Film Corner, and a win for Best Casting at the Kinsale Shark Awards 2021.
His most recent work includes directing the short film "Street League - Own Your Future," released in January 2025, a finalist in the Smiley Awards 2025.
Norowzian's unique approach and compelling storytelling continue to make a significant impact in both commercial and narrative filmmaking.
